Technical Support
Upon purchasing
The Complete Landlord® e-Guide, you should have been
linked to a web page with instructions on downloading your files. If you were not, if your download was unexpectedly
interrupted or did not work properly, please
Contact
Us to have the download and instructions
re-delivered to you directly.
The download process is quite simple and
should only take a few seconds or minutes to complete. If you are
experiencing problems, be sure to read the instructions carefully and try
again. Most download errors are the result of the user not following
the instructions properly but can be remedied quickly and easily. The
following are frequently asked technical questions. If you cannot
find the information to solve your problem, please
Contact
Us for
direct assistance.
"I get an error message
that says the file is not a valid Win 32 application".
This error message is usually due to the size of the e-guide downloaded
file and the ability of your computer's temporary folder system to convert
this data. Many system defaults disallow all large .exe files and
display this message to the user.
Contact
Us for further instructions on the remedy.
"I followed the
instructions for the download but it didn't work."
In most of these cases, the files were downloaded and you just don't know
where to look for them. The download instructions ask you to
designate where you want the files to be saved to before clicking the
"Unzip" button. If you do not specify a location, the default is set
to your C drive. So, look there to find the files and/or do a search
of your computer for "landlord" to see if they were saved elsewhere.
Another common error
occurs if you clicked on "Save" at the File Download prompt instead of
"Open", as directed. Saving the file downloads it to your computer
without executing it to open first so the contents of the file can be
extracted. In this case, you would still need to execute the opening
of the file on your system with a WinZip type of software. The
quickest and easiest remedy to this problem is to perform the download
again from our site in which case you will need to
Contact
Us to request the
link. Upon verification of your purchase, it will emailed to you
immediately.
"When I try to
open a PDF file, I get an error message and it won't open."
As explained on the download page, all documents require Adobe® Acrobat®
or Reader® software to view and print. If you do not have this software
you download a free copy of
Adobe Reader®
now . Upon installation, you should be able to open PDF files
in a read-only format and be able to work within them as intended.
If you are still having trouble, try opening Adobe first and then open the
PDF file within the Adobe program.
"I can't open or read the Microsoft®
Word files."
If you do not have a version of Microsoft® Word software later than 1997,
your system may not be able to read the files. You will need to
upgrade to a more current version or you may obtain a free download of
Microsoft viewer software by
clicking here.
This software is a read and
print only version that will not allow you to customize documents.
